Reversi (リバーシ) is a strategic board game designed for two players. Originally invented in 1883 in London by two Englishmen, Reversi gained renewed popularity in Japan, where it is also known as Othello, echoing the title of Shakespeare's renowned tragedy. Today, Reversi enjoys considerable popularity in Japan, often drawing parallels to Checkers in other regions.

Short Rules of Reversi

The game consists of 64 identical pieces known as discs, featuring one light side and one dark side. Players alternate turns placing their discs on the board with the respective color facing upwards. A player can capture their opponent's discs if they are situated in a straight line and enclosed by the new disc and another disc of the current player's color, thereby flipping them to their own color.

The primary objective of Reversi is to occupy the majority of disks with your color when the last playable square is filled.
